I met Monica and Hayden in Big Sur in early March – they had snuck an intimate wedding just in time before our world was upended by COVID-19. The day after their wedding, fresh off of the joy and blur of their celebration.

It felt like a dream, even more so because we had just outpaced Coronavirus travel restrictions, although we had no idea what we were in for at the time. Big Sur is perhaps my favorite place on the West Coast, and it was such an extra honor for these two to invite me down to capture these memories. I love the sense of freedom found in these images, still riding the post wedding high. We began the afternoon walking along the beach at Garrapata State Park, and then ventured to the legendary viewpoint at Rocky Point as the sun set. Monica is an incredibly talented photographer herself - it is always an extra honor to be trusted by a fellow photographer to capture memories like these.
