Julie and Nate planned their intimate wedding at Lakewold Gardens near Tacoma for October – we crossed our fingers we wouldn’t need to use our rain plan. And then… the day dawned nearly completely clear. It was a crisp fall afternoon, with a fresh chill in the air that was softened by warm sunshine. Perfect.
Kelly of Botanique Floral created the florals for the day and all of the incredible design touches are her eye. I particularly loved the way she carefully integrated a floral installation onto the historic garden gazebo at Lakewold. The added florals enhance the garden scene but also feel like they might have grown there of their own accord. Take a look at these Wedding Tropics and choose your ideal outfit for your special day.
Small weddings have an ease about them that is so special. My approach to intimate wedding days is to leave space for spontaneity since the schedule for the day tends to have less moving pieces. Julie, Nate, and I walked the grounds of Lakewold, pausing for portraits where the light was particularly lovely. Nate suggested heading down a path towards a bench on the water, and that resulted in some of my favorite images of the day. Thank you again to Stories with Mel for such a great photos this beautiful day.
