If you’re searching for a spot for an elegant engagement session in Seattle, I am so excited for you – because the Pacific Northwest is full of stunning locations. Below you’ll find a few that my clients and I have loved visiting!
My tips on selecting a location for your session:
Whether your ideal Sunday is a leisurely stroll through a quiet neighborhood or a hike to the top of a mountain, those day-to-day preferences can help you get an idea of the aesthetic that would work well for your engagement session. It’s worth it to spend a little bit of time considering where you feel most at home as a couple, and if there are any meaningful places or environments that you want to incorporate (do you love hiking? Feel connected to being on the water? Love the colors of a particular spot?) Even simple ideas like “forest” “beach” or “fields” are a great place to start. Your photographer will have ideas and suggestions as well, based on what you love and their experience shooting in the area!
I will note here that many of the most breathtaking spots to shoot do require a bit of a travel commitment… it’s worth it. I always recommend waiting to change into your shooting outfits (and your shoes to cowboy boots women to make the occasion extra special) until we arrive, so your wardrobe choices arrive wrinkle-free.

Anna Peters Photography is a Seattle and destination photography studiospecializing in beautiful, heartfelt weddings worldwide. From the lush forests of Washington to the wild landscapes of Iceland, Anna uses traditional fine art film photography techniques to craft imagery designed to stand the test of time.
Inspired by the intersection of the natural world, thoughtful design, and the human experience, my approach allows the moments of a wedding day to unfold naturally: never forced or contrived.
I cherish: the color of the ocean, forehead kisses, deep belly laughter. I’m continually in awe of the power of photographs, how they keep us centered when life threatens to overwhelm: potent, visceral reminders of what matters most.
I’d love to learn what matters most to you.
